Select adds item selection capabilities to a Datatable. Items can be rows, columns or cells, which can be selected independently, or together. Item selection can be particularly useful in interactive tables where users can perform some action on the table.

If you include the Select extension on your page, it is automatically available for every Datatable on that page through the API. If you would like to make item selection possible for your end users through actions such as click and tap, the select option can be set to boolen true.

The select.style option provides the ability to control how items are selected in the table. It is a string that can be used with one of following options: api|single|multi|os. This example shows the multi option.

Select has the ability to select rows, columns and/or cells in a table. Row selection is the default behavior as it is the most commonly used selection item type, but the items to be selected can be easily changed using the select.items initialisation option, or after initialisation using the select.items() API method.
